Have you ever found a picture that you know would make a great pattern, only to scan it and realize that it is too big?  Or have you scanned a picture, but just can't get it straight?  Have you ever found a pattern in your favorite knitting magazine, only to realize that it would take more hours to draw it than it would to knit it?  Do you have trouble getting the right proportions for a scanned picture?  Have you ever found a pattern written for one knitting machine in its language only to realize your machine could not recognize that language?

Dr. Cutter is a Windows program that helps you resize a pattern, adjust a scanned image using rotation and mirroring, as well as position adjustments, and convert patterns to different formats.

After scanning an image with your scanner, you may generate exact stitch and row patterns based on this image.  This is useful for making a new pattern from a picture.  You may also scan published patterns in books and magazines and save them.  There is an easily movable grid feature that can be very helpful.

Simple editing functions are available to touch up the final image while the original is still on the screen.  You may even adjust the stitch and row count to optimize your results, if the first try just wasn't quite right.   And you may save this news as a .CUT (Creation 6), .PAT (DesignaKnit), PCX or Mr. Card file.
