CABLE TRIM

This one is a bit different from the previous three shown and is a great trim for boy afghans and blankets and other things because it gives a rather masculine, nautical, twisted rope look.

• Hang as much of the blanket edge onto the machine as you can, back side (wrong side) facing you.
• Set the machine to HOLD (Russel levers - Studio; BX/LX and pushers - Passap).
• Put 3 stitches closest to the carriage/lock into work and knit 8-10 rows.
• Pick up those 3 stitches and carry them UNDER the next 3 adjacent needles and hang onto the following three needles.

Needles: 15 - 14 - 13 - 12 - 11 - 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 CARRIAGE/LOCK

Needles 15 - 4 are on HOLD (no pushers)
Knit 8-10 rows on needles 1 - 2 - 3
Pick up the knitted stitches on needles 1 - 2 - 3
Carry then UNDER needles 4 - 5 - 6
Place them onto needles 7 - 8 - 9

• Put the 3 needles you passed under, needles 4 - 5 - 6, into work and knit 8-10 rows. Continue as above.
